“Police said a 20-year-old man used a fake ID bearing the name “McLovin” to drink at a bar in Iowa.
Daniel Alfredo Burleson was arrested Friday night after a police officer spotted him at an Iowa City bar with an alcoholic beverage in his hand, the Iowa City Press-Citizen reported.
Burleson allegedly admitted to drinking a vodka-infused drink but refused to provide his ID.
Police escorted Burleson out of the bar, and he eventually coughed up his real ID, which indicated he was under the legal drinking age of 21, according to a criminal complaint.
The 20-year-old initially told police he did not have a fake ID, but officers said they spotted one when Burleson started shuffling through his wallet.
The name “McLovin” was printed on the fake Hawaii ID, along with a birth date of June 3, 1981. It was inspired by the 2007 hit comedy “Superbad,” in which a character uses a fake ID under the same name to buy alcohol at a liquor store.
Burleson allegedly told officers he purchased the fake ID from Amazon.
He is now facing multiple alcohol-related charges, including public intoxication, under legal age in a bar, possession of a fictitious license, and possession of alcohol while underage.”
